Oswego, NY – Marion Ciciarelli, senior director of Communications for Oswego Health (c) presents United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath (l) and Campaign Associate Kay Duguay (r) with a food donation from Oswego Health.? ?We hold a food drive each year for the United Way food pantries,? said Ciciarelli. ?Our employees have always been very generous in giving back to their community.? Employees at the Oswego Hospital, Fulton Medical Center, and The Manor at Seneca Hill all contributed. The United Way will distribute the food to local food pantries. In addition to the United Way donation, employees at Oswego Health?s Central Square Medical Center collected food for its local food pantry at St. Bernadette?s Church.

Oswego, NY – Representatives from the United Way of Greater Oswego County, and Human Concerns met with members of the SUNY Oswego SEFA United Way Campaign Committee and the SUNY Oswego Men?s and Women?s Lakers ice hockey teams to accept several boxes filled with non-perishable food items and toys. The items were collected the first weekend of December at both Men?s and Women?s hockey games.

“We extend our sincerest thanks to everyone that donated food and toys,? said United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath. ?SEFA continues to be a strong supporter of United Way. The commitment that SEFA members have to United Way and their community is commendable. It?s wonderful that our partnership with SUNY Oswego can help make the holiday season more enjoyable for families in our community.?

Fulton, NY ? Executive Director of United Way of Greater Oswego County Patrick Dewine (l) meets with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Regional President Jim Reed (r) to discuss the United Way?s Health and Well-Being impact area and the positive effect it has on programs such as the YMCA Oswego Adult Senior Programs and Aurora of CNY Social Work Services for Individuals with Vision/Hearing Loss. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield recently donated $3,500 to the United Way in support of health and well-being.

Fulton, NY ? Ready for a creative evening with friends? United Way of Greater Oswego County invites you to its Paint N? Sip event on November 30. Hosted by Home 2 Suites by Hilton ?, 252 NYS Route 104 in Oswego, the event will begin at 6:00 pm.

?It?s going to be a fun evening for a great cause,? said United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath.?? ?I?m pleased that Home 2 Suites by Hilton ? chose to host our Paint N? Sip evening. Creating new partnerships and welcoming new businesses is all part of Living United.?

Attendees are welcome to bring a beverage of their choice to enjoy while they receive step by step instructions as they create their own artwork. All paint and materials will be provided as well as appetizers courtesy of Lighthouse Lanes. Registration is $40 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefiting United Way?s Annual Campaign.

DuFore?s Jewelers has donated a ladies diamond ring that will be?used for a drawing?in support of the United Way?s Annual Campaign.? The 14k white gold ring features a brilliant cut diamond with baguettes and has a .55 total carat weight. The diamond ring is currently on display at DuFore?s Jewelers, 94 West 2^nd Street in Oswego.

Fulton, NY ? The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently welcomed community members to its Stone Soup Luncheon. Hosted by St. Joseph?s Parish in Oswego the annual event serves as a fundraiser for local food pantries and helps to raise awareness of hunger in Oswego County.

According to United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath the Luncheon was a great success. ?The money we raised and the many boxes of food items we collected will go a long way in replenishing the shelves in our local food pantries,” said McGrath. ?I wish to thank the community members who attended, and our many volunteers, including employees from Novelis and Fulton Savings Bank, for making the event a success, as well as our many caring sponsors who donated the food for our luncheon: Canale?s Restaurant, Vona?s Restaurant, Oswego Country Club, The American Foundry, and The Press Box for providing our soups; C?s Farms for our salad fixings; Davis Brothers for the salad dressing; Kinney Drugs who provided bottled water; Bosco?s provided the rolls; Giovanni Foods for cases of canned sauce; Dunkin? Donuts for the coffee, and Cakes Galore for donating our desserts.?

?I would also like to thank the Oswego Lions Club for its generous donation of $1,000 for our food pantries and St. Joseph?s Parish for hosting the event,” added McGrath.

All proceeds from the Stone Soup Luncheon, as well as the food that was collected are donated to local food pantries at the Human Concerns Center, Catholic Charities of Oswego County, and the Salvation Army of Oswego County.

Hosted by Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego the event raised more than $1,170 in support of United Way?s Annual Campaign.

?We are grateful to Becky Walpole of Woodchuck Saloon for hosting the event, cooking the chickens and preparing the dinners, and our board members that brought their homemade chili for the cook-off,? said Duguay. ?We served 200 chicken dinners and it would not have been possible without the tremendous support we received from our valued volunteers and the many community members that graciously chose to support this event. Thank you to everyone involved!?

Oswego, NY ? Members of VEGA, SUNY Oswego?s Junior and Senior Women?s Honors Society, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) recently sponsored the 26^th annual Walk-A-Thon ?Oswego Walks United? on the SUNY Oswego campus.

The event raised more than $500 in support of the many human services programs offered through United Way funded agencies.? ?The care and concern that students and staff of SUNY Oswego show for their community is inspiring. ?We grateful to the members of SEFA, VEGA, PRSSA, for organizing the ?Oswego Walks United? and to everyone that participated,? said Resource Development Director Ali McGrath.

Fulton, NY ? With a focus on its impact area of ending hunger United Way of Greater Oswego County will hold its 12^th Annual Stone Soup Luncheon November 9 at St. Joseph?s Parish Center, 240 West First Street in Oswego from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

United Way?s Stone Soup Luncheon helps to stock the shelves of Oswego County?s food pantries that provide food for thousands of hungry families and individuals.

?With the holidays fast approaching it becomes more challenging for our pantries to meet the demand for food subsidy. Our Stone Soup Luncheon goes a long way in helping to meet that demand,? said United Way Development Director Ali McGrath.

The menu for United Way?s Stone Soup Luncheon will feature several varieties of soups from some of the area?s most popular restaurants and eateries. Local business will also be providing salad, rolls, and dessert to complete the menu.

?We greatly appreciate the support our luncheons have received from local businesses and individuals,? added McGrath. ?The efforts of our volunteers, which include community members as well as employees from the area businesses and organizations, make the luncheon possible; those that attend the luncheon make it a success. The Stone Soup Luncheon is a perfect example of our community coming together to Live United,??

Open to the public, the United Way Stone Soup Luncheon will be held at St. Joseph?s Parish Center, 240 West First Street in Oswego from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.? United Way will be accepting a donation of $5.00 per person and those attending are urged to bring a donation of non-perishable food items.
