Excellus BlueCross BlueShield aides United Way CampaignFulton, NY ? Executive Director of United Way of Greater Oswego County Patrick Dewine (l) meets with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Regional President Jim Reed (r) to discuss the United Way?s Health and Well-Being impact area and the positive effect it has on programs such as the YMCA Oswego Adult Senior Programs and Aurora of CNY Social Work Services for Individuals with Vision/Hearing Loss. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield recently donated $3,500 to the United Way in support of health and well-being.

Paint N? Sip Evening to Benefit United Way

Paint N? Sip Evening to Benefit United WayFulton, NY ? Ready for a creative evening with friends? United Way of Greater Oswego County invites you to its Paint N? Sip event on November 30. Hosted by Home 2 Suites by Hilton ?, 252 NYS Route 104 in Oswego, the event will begin at 6:00 pm.

?It?s going to be a fun evening for a great cause,? said United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath.?? ?I?m pleased that Home 2 Suites by Hilton ? chose to host our Paint N? Sip evening. Creating new partnerships and welcoming new businesses is all part of Living United.?

Attendees are welcome to bring a beverage of their choice to enjoy while they receive step by step instructions as they create their own artwork. All paint and materials will be provided as well as appetizers courtesy of Lighthouse Lanes. Registration is $40 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefiting United Way?s Annual Campaign.

DuFore?s Jewelers has donated a ladies diamond ring that will be?used for a drawing?in support of the United Way?s Annual Campaign.? The 14k white gold ring features a brilliant cut diamond with baguettes and has a .55 total carat weight. The diamond ring is currently on display at DuFore?s Jewelers, 94 West 2nd Street in Oswego.

United Way Stone Soup Luncheon Welcomes Great Results

United Way Stone Soup Luncheon Welcomes Great ResultsFulton, NY ? The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently welcomed community members to its Stone Soup Luncheon. Hosted by St. Joseph?s Parish in Oswego the annual event serves as a fundraiser for local food pantries and helps to raise awareness of hunger in Oswego County.

According to United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath the Luncheon was a great success. ?The money we raised and the many boxes of food items we collected will go a long way in replenishing the shelves in our local food pantries,” said McGrath. ?I wish to thank the community members who attended, and our many volunteers, including employees from Novelis and Fulton Savings Bank, for making the event a success, as well as our many caring sponsors who donated the food for our luncheon: Canale?s Restaurant, Vona?s Restaurant, Oswego Country Club, The American Foundry, and The Press Box for providing our soups; C?s Farms for our salad fixings; Davis Brothers for the salad dressing; Kinney Drugs who provided bottled water; Bosco?s provided the rolls; Giovanni Foods for cases of canned sauce; Dunkin? Donuts for the coffee, and Cakes Galore for donating our desserts.?

?I would also like to thank the Oswego Lions Club for its generous donation of $1,000 for our food pantries and St. Joseph?s Parish for hosting the event,” added McGrath.

All proceeds from the Stone Soup Luncheon, as well as the food that was collected are donated to local food pantries at the Human Concerns Center, Catholic Charities of Oswego County, and the Salvation Army of Oswego County.
