Kids and Robert McGrath, host of the Harborfest BreakfastOswego, NY ? Dozens of community members and visitors filled the Clubhouse Tavern for the United Way?s 10th Annual Harborfest Stuff-A-Bus Breakfast.? Committee members and volunteers kept busy cooking and serving breakfast all morning as those eager to support United Way gathered to enjoy breakfast and support a worthwhile project.

Partnering with several business and organizations, as well as school districts throughout Oswego County, United Way of Greater Oswego County?s Stuff-A-Bus campaign collects donations of school supplies for distribution to less fortunate students throughout Oswego County.

?Each year Oswego County school districts are seeing that more and more students do not have the means to purchase the supplies necessary to begin the school year.? Our Stuff-A-Bus campaign looks to alleviate that problem and provide as many children as possible with school supplies they need,? said Executive Director of the United Way Patrick Dewine.

Thanks to the generosity of the many community members and visitors that attended, Resource Development Director Ali McGrath said that the breakfast, combined with the drawing for the Beach Cruiser bicycle, donated by Eagle Beverage, raised $3,000 in support of the annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign.? ?The support we received for the Harborfest Stuff-A-Bus Breakfast was an example of our community living united.? These funds will go along way towards our goal of helping children and youth succeed,? said McGrath.

That community support for United Way took on a personal touch when the winner of the 50/50 drawing, Mike Smith, donated back $100.

She also noted that the breakfast would not have been possible if not for the combined efforts the planning committee.? ?I extend my sincerest thanks to co-sponsors, Robert and Liz McGrath of The Clubhouse Tavern, co-chairpersons, Dan and Liz Dorsey of Eagle Beverage, John and Laurie Kelly, John Michael Kelly, Jim Schneider, Patrick Barry, Bill Tucker, and Bernie Coe who unselfishly donated their time and talents to this event and demonstrated their genuine concern for United Way and the children and youth of our community.? I would also like to acknowledge Dahl?s Diner, Wades Diner, Ritz Diner, Dunkin Donuts, Davis? Meats, and Sithe Energy for their donations to the breakfast,? said McGrath.
