On Saturday, July 25 from 8:00 ? 11:30 a.m., The Club House Tavern, 126 West Second Street in Oswego, will host a breakfast in support of United Way?s Stuff-A-Bus campaign. Sponsored by Eagle Beverage and The Club House Tavern, with additional sponsorship from Dahl?s Diner and Sithe Energy, the breakfast is open to the public. The suggested minimum donation for the breakfast is $5.00 with all donations benefiting the Stuff-A-Bus campaign that helps provides area youth in need with the supplies they need to begin the school year.
?This is the tenth year that we have hosted this event,? said Robert McGrath, owner of The Club House Tavern. ?The United Way does a lot to benefit the youth in our community and we are happy to be able to support their efforts and help raise money for their programs. With the city filled with visitors for Harborfest we are looking forward to welcoming a big crowd.?
?We are very appreciative of the support we are receiving from, The Club House Tavern, Eagle Beverage, and our planning committee,? added Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, Patrick Dewine. ?It?s encouraging to see that businesses and community members recognize the importance of helping our youth and supporting their United Way. Last year our ?Stuff-A-Bus? program served more than 1300 students and we would like to help even more this year. I am looking forward to the event and I hope our community members join us for a delicious breakfast.?
In addition to the breakfast, the United Way will also be holding a drawing for a chance to win a Beach Cruiser Bicycle, courtesy of Eagle Beverage. Tickets, which are available through United Way, are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Stuff-A-Bus Campaign.
Made possible through a partnership with United Way, school districts throughout Oswego County, and more than five business and organizations, the Stuff-A-Bus Campaign, collects donations of school supplies for distribution to less fortunate students throughout Oswego County.
