Corrie Butler SeatedFulton, NY – Executive Director of United Way of Greater Oswego County Patrick Dewine has announced that Corrie Butler has been named the agency?s finance director.? A native of Fulton, Butler, who holds a bachelor?s degree from SUNY Oswego, previously worked as the accounts receivable manager at The Country Vintner in Richmond, VA.

As financial director, Butler will be responsible for all financial aspects of United Way including tracking the results of in-house United Way campaigns conducted by local companies as well as donations from small businesses and individuals, payroll, audits, and the agency?s annual budget.

?Corrie is a welcome addition to our staff,? said Dewine.? ?Her knowledge and experience, combined with her passion for helping others, will serve her well in her new position as finance director at United Way.?

Butler, who returned home to be closer to her family, is pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of United Way. ?Having been a stay-at-home mom for a few years I?m looking forward to working for such a great organization as United Way,? said Butler. ?I was aware of United Way but I did not realize the scope of the work it does and how many programs and services it supports. Health issues in my family helped me develop a better understanding of what it is like to be in need of services. We are fortunate to have United Way in our community. It is a very caring and understanding organization. The services United Way funds are provided in a non-judgmental and confidential manner that truly offers a hand up and not a hand out.?

In addition to her duties as finance director Butler is anxious to be involved with United Way?s initiatives and events. ?Volunteering for Stuff-A-Bus and the Stone Soup Luncheon, as well as assisting in food drives and other fundraisers is a great way for me to help others in our community. Working at United Way will be a very rewarding experience on many levels,? said Butler.
