DSS Event Benefits United Way

UW DSS Hazzy's AngelsFulton, NY ? Staff and friends of the Oswego County Department of Social Services (DSS) gathered to show their support for one of Oswego County?s most vital agencies, United Way, as they participated in the 6th Annual DSS Spring Bowling Fling.

The DSS employee bowl-a-thon raised more than $1,800 in support of United Way.? ?This was our most successful ?Spring Fling? ever,? said John Ferry, coordinator of Child Support Enforcement at DSS.? ?There were 19 teams consisting of 89 bowlers as well many more that joined us to watch the fun.? In addition to DSS employees we had teams from the County Clerk’s office, United Way, and Novelis.? Thank you to all the bowlers and community members that came out to support the event, especially the DSS Hospitality group and our United Way fundraising staff that helped to organize the event.?

Ferry added that DSS staff recognizes the positive impact that United Way has in Oswego County.? ?Many of our partner agencies receive funding through United Way.? Many of these agencies rely on United Way to help fund critical programs that so many of our county residents rely on.? We at DSS support the United Way because we see the tremendous need here in our community on a daily basis and appreciate what the United Way and its partner agencies are doing to help support our community.??
