Entergy Wraps Up United Way Campaign

Fulton, NY ? The United Way of Greater Oswego County received a significant contribution to its Annual Campaign with the completion of the Entergy Nuclear employee campaign for the United Way.

?FitzPatrick employees are long-time community supporters and are very involved with many non-profit organizations. This year FitzPatrick employees surpassed last year?s contribution with donations totaling $51,416 in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County?s Annual Campaign,? said Communications Specialist Tammy Holden.

The employee donations, coupled with Entergy Corporate?s generous policy of matching employee contributions put Entergy?s total donation to the United Way Annual Campaign at $102,832.

Holden credited the success of the campaign in part to a number of events that employees held throughout the year. ?This year employees held a silent auction and donated a number of raffle items with the proceeds targeted for the plant?s annual United Way Campaign. Their efforts together with their personal monetary contributions raised $51,416 and demonstrated Entergy?s mission to create value for the communities we serve,? said Holden.

Executive Director of United Way of Greater Oswego County Melanie Trexler was impressed with their efforts and praised Entergy and its employees. ?Entergy?s dedication and generosity to the United Way is a testament to the type of company they are. Entergy provides an environment were even their out of town outage workers feel inspired to give and employees donate items at their own cost as a raffle to raise funds. Their heart filled contributions to our annual campaign helps us to continue to provide funding for the many human services programs that are administered through our member agency programs and help us continue our mission of ending hunger, helping youth succeed, and improving the overall health and well-being of our community,? said Trexler.
