The mission of the event is like that of the original folk story, where villagers come together and each add a small component to the pot of soup, to help someone in need (and in the end) since everyone in the town gave what they could, the entire village benefited and was able to share a feast together. And thanks to the generosity of local businesses whom donate the items to put on the luncheon (soups from local restaurants, salad items, baked goods, coffee and beverages  and more!)

The Stone Soup luncheon was launched to increase the visibility of food insecurity throughout our county and has grown into an annual event local agencies rely on. The funds raised are split between three food pantries, and these organizations also share the nonperishable food items donated by attendees.

Stone Soup is a social event that combines good food and generous people for a worthy cause. Attendees will enjoy a delicious lunch while making a difference in the community. The lunch of soup, salad, rolls, dessert, and beverages is provided at no cost by local restaurants and grocery stores recognized and supported by the community.
