SUNY Oswego is to be commended for its most recent endeavor in support of United Way of Greater Oswego County.? October 8th marked the 25th anniversary of the SUNY Oswego Walk With A Purpose, a 5K walk around the campus that raises funds for United Way.
Despite the inclement weather dozens of students representing a number of SUNY organizations participated in the walk.? Their efforts raised $430 that will help fund United Way programs that focus on ending hunger, helping children and youth succeed, and improving the health and well-being of families and individuals throughout Oswego County.
We greatly appreciate the work that SUNY Oswego Advisors Sharity Bassett, Lisa Evaneski and the entire SEFA committee, chaired by Kristin Gublo, put forth in coordinating Walk With A Purpose, and the SUNY Oswego Junior and Senior Women?s Honor Society (VEGA) and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) for sponsoring the event.
The relationship we have fostered with SUNY Oswego has led to a wonderful collaboration that has had a positive impact on United Way supported programs and the lives of those they serve.? It?s rewarding to know that SUNY Oswego students and faculty recognize the importance of United Way.
I extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at SUNY Oswego for all that they do for their community through their support of United Way!
Sincerely,
Ali McGrath
