Oswego Lions Club helps United Way Stuff-A-Bus
June 30th, 2014
Oswego, NY ? The United Way of Greater Oswego County?s Stuff-A-Bus Campaign received some much welcomed support recently when the Oswego Lions Club made a donation of $500. Held annually, the Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which is a collaboration between the United Way and Oswego County school districts, collects school supplies for children in need throughout Oswego County.
The donation from the Oswego Lions Club provides the Stuff-A-Bus Campaign with the opportunity to complement the school supplies that are donated by purchasing other in-demand items such as backpacks and calculators. ?The support we receive from caring organizations such as the Oswego Lions Club is essential to the success of our Stuff-A-Bus campaign. We appreciate their generosity and their concern for the youth of our community,? said Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
Partnering with more than 20 business and organizations, as well as school districts throughout Oswego County, United Way is looking to stuff 8 school buses with school supplies so that children in need in Oswego County have the supplies they need to begin the school year.
