United Way Golf Tournament a Success

53Fulton, NY ? A field of 36 teams took to the links for a day of golf and fun in the 17th Annual United Way Golf Tournament, held July 16th at the Oswego Country Club.

?Everyone had a great time and the money raised will do much to help the many human service programs that the United Way of Greater Oswego County helps support,? said Resource Development Director, Lois Luber. ?I extend a sincere thank you to our major sponsors; National Grid, Novelis, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Entergy, CENG, and Burritt Chevrolet as well as the many other businesses, organizations and individuals who assisted us with the financial underwriting of the tournament. I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of the golf committee and our many volunteers who gave of their time and talents to help make the event enjoyable for everyone involved. Their efforts played a major role in the success of our golf tournament.?

The team from R.E. Davis & Son with an impressive score of 58 captured first place,team members are Tim Hammond, Dan Sova, Tim Davis and Jeff LaBouef. The team of HRW Construction and French Construction finished second with a score of 60. Team members are Mike Sheldon, Dwayne Walts, Audrey Myers and Dick Campbell.

Top individual performers were Dave Girard of Quaker Chemical & Kelly Sawyer of Custom Marketing Solutions, closest to the pin on hole 4; and Jocena Cook of Novelis and Danny Young of Shaw Power Group, closest to the pin on hole 18. Longest drive on hole 1, Vic Licatese of Team Cowboys and Tara Fitzgibbons of Pathfinder Investment Team. The team from Domino?s Pizza won the putting contest.
