United Way Seeks Greater Impact

Fulton, NY – With the United Way of Greater Oswego County?s annual campaign well underway and workplace campaigns in full gear the United Way?s Campaign Cabinet has been busy formalizing their strategic plan to supplement the campaign and ensure that United Way?s impact is felt throughout all of Oswego County.

One of cabinet?s priorities is to increase the United Way?s presence in the county?s northern region.? With partnering agencies such as Rural and Migrant Ministries in Richland and the Pulaski Community Cupboard providing vital human services to their communities the success of workplace campaigns in northern Oswego County is essential.

?Fostering relationships and establishing new collaborations will make it possible for United Way to have a positive impact and meet the needs of the many rural communities that make up the northern region of our county.? It?s paramount that United Way funded programs are benefiting families and individuals in every corner of Oswego County,? said United Way Campaign Cabinet Chairperson Dick Delaney.

While the United Way annual campaign is the agency?s primary resource for funding the 30 human services programs that its members provide community initiatives and outreach are essential compliments.? ?Events such as our Stone Soup Luncheon, which will be held next month in Oswego, the Dine With Us series, the SUNY Oswego United Way Walk-a-Thon, and our annual breakfast to name a few, allows United Way to connect with the community on a more personal level,? added United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath.? ?These initiatives not only raise awareness of United Way, they help to put a face on the agency and drives home the fact that working together for the betterment of our communities is what United Way is all about.?

Comprised of a cross section of concerned community leaders, the United Way?s Campaign Cabinet works hand in hand with the United Way staff as they oversee the agency?s Annual Campaign and ensures that United Way remains focused on its mission to end hunger, help children and youth succeed, and improve the health and well-being of families and individuals throughout Oswego County.

?The compassion that these individuals have for their fellow community members is commendable,? added McGrath.? ?They?re committed having United Way make a positive difference throughout all of Oswego County from Hannibal to Cleveland; Phoenix to Lacona and everywhere in between.? Wherever the need for human services exists United Way will be there!?
