2/10/2016
Fulton, NY:? United Way of Greater Oswego County Resource Development Director Ali McGrath has announced that United Way will host its annual Salute to Volunteers and Leadership Giving reception March 23 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at The American Foundry in Oswego.
Sponsored in part by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and Community Bank, N.A., the event allows attendees to learn more about United Way and the positive effect that programs funded through United Way have on the agency?s three impact areas; ending hunger, helping youth succeed, and building healthy communities.? Additionally, United Way staff, campaign cabinet, and board members have the opportunity to recognize and personally express their gratitude to the many volunteers and leadership givers that play an integral role in the success of United Way.
?Volunteers are the lifeblood of United Way,? said McGrath.? ?Events such as our Golf Tournament, Stuff-A-Bus, and Dine United Nights, to name a few, would not be possible if not for our valued volunteers that graciously share their time and talents to help others.? We cherish all of our volunteers and can?t thank them enough for all that they do.?
Tina Stephens, manager of Community Bank N.A.?s Fulton branch said the bank is proud to be sponsoring the United Way Salute to Volunteers and Leadership Giving reception.? ?Community Bank, N.A. strives to be a staple in our community.? We are committed to working with United Way as a strong team dedicated to supporting Oswego County,? said Stephens.
In addition to saluting its volunteers United Way will recognize its Leadership Givers; those that pledge $500 or more annually.? Comprised of corporate sponsors, small businesses owners, and individuals that care deeply for their community and those they share it with, Leadership Givers play a vital role in the success of United Way?s Annual Campaign.? ?Our Leadership Givers? commitment to United Way and their willingness to help us end hunger, help youth succeed, and build healthy communities is commendable,? added McGrath.
One of those Leadership Givers, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, is also a sponsor of the reception.
?Excellus BlueCross BlueShield is pleased to be a Leadership Giver and sponsor of this United Way event,? said Jim Reed, regional president of the company. ?As Central New York?s largest nonprofit health plan, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield seeks to partner with organizations that work to improve the health or health care of the residents of the communities it serves.?
